Anne Loeser • PCDI Founder

1953 - 2023

Anne Loeser, the founder and driving force of the Patient-Centered Dosing Initiative, passed away on October 10, 2023, from complications of metastatic breast cancer (MBC) and GI issues. Her beloved husband Steve of 48 years and cherished 29-year old parrot Pumpkin were at her side.

Although Anne was diagnosed with MBC in 2011, her symptoms surfaced four years prior and were misdiagnosed by multiple doctors. Determined to help others learn more about the disease and avoid diagnostic pitfalls, Anne published "The Insider's Guide to Metastatic Breast Cancer" which has been read by thousands of patients and caregivers throughout the world.

In 2019, Anne founded the Patient-Centered Dosing Initiative and shared the results of a patient survey about the damage resulting from treatment-related side effects at the annual ASCO meeting in Chicago. This precipitated the FDA to move away from the concept of maximizing oncology drug toxicity in favor of identifying more tolerable and effective doses.

Anne was blessed with a copious amount of love in her life, and loving and being loved were of paramount importance to her.
